This module will take participants through the basics of General Management dedicated to Cybersecurity and Digital professionals? There will be four parts: Finance, Strategy, Leadership and Human Capital.
In the first part, participants will better understand the art and the language of finance. The topics that should be reviewed are the challenges of the income statement, the balance sheet, cash, financial ratios, return on investment and working capital.
In the second part, fundamentals of business strategy will be reviewed: SWOT analysis, types of strategy, strategic moves, seeking alignment to strategy in the implementation… We will also focus on the specific challenges of the digital strategy.
In the third part, we will understand why some leaders are so successful. They motivate others to excel. They build their team's self-confidence. They set direction and provoke positive change. They encourage smart risk-taking, manage with tough empathy and credit others for their success. Finally, they increase their self-awareness and draw strength from adversity.
The last part will be devoted to the growth of the human capital through smart recruitment, skills assessment, on-going training and performance evaluation. This part will also include discussion on organizational development and sourcing.

Dr Daniel Lebeau will be the Topic Leader in charge of “General Management: Digital and Cybersecurity Leadership” at the Executive Master in Cybersecurity Management.
Brussels, February 10, 2023. Professor Georges Ataya, academic Director, confirms the designation of Daniel Lebeau as the Topic Leader for “General Management: Digital and Cybersecurity Leadership”, a specific module delivered at the Executive Master in Cybersecurity management.
Daniel has been Senior Vice-President, Chief Information Officer and later on CIO & Corporate Business Services at GlaxoSmithKline.
Daniel obtained an engineering degree and a PhD in applied sciences in Plasma Physics at the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons, Belgium. He also holds a diploma in management from UCL and from Stanford.
In 2009, Daniel Lebeau was listed by the US newspaper Information Weeks in the top 50 global CIOs. He was named “CIO of the year” in Belgium in 2010 and “European CIO of the year” in 2011 by the business school INSEAD and CIONET.
The executive Master in Cybersecurity Management is part of the Digital Governance and Trust education series at the Brussels-based Business school. Running since 2001, this postgraduate education evolved to the needs of digital professionals. After a two-year interruption, a renewed Hybrid education method shall be launched on March 1, 2023.
