Cybersecurity management practices require the knowledge of own business, its functional and technical vulnerabilities and the threat landscape that needs to be addressed. The capabilities that require building cybersecurity capacity includes Identification, Protection, Detection, Response and Recovery techniques and processes.
This module shall, based on the previous modules, address the the day-to-day implementation of cybersecurity and information security, linking theories and practice.
We will discuss how to link frameworks with business needs and risks in a day-to-day environment.
This covers knowledge of existing frameworks, getting management buy-in, risk analysis, and the search for adequate solutions that are aligned with the risk appetite to the deployment and follow-up.
Finally we will give you some tools to help you function and think in adverse conditions and
seemingly hostile environments.
The case study involves the implementation of cybersecurity in a business environment where stakes are high and where board and company security knowledge limited.

Taco Mulder will be the Topic Leader in charge of “The Cyber Security Battleground” at the Executive Master in Cybersecurity Management.
Brussels, February 10, 2023. Professor Georges Ataya, academic Director, confirms the designation of Taco Mulder as the Topic Leader for “The Cyber Security Battleground”, a specific module delivered at the Executive Master in Cybersecurity management.
“The Cyber Security Battleground” will cover the implementation of cybersecurity in the relation to business needs. It will develop the techniques, skills and metrics to deploy a cybersecurity program on the three levels of Strategy, Tactics and Operations. This will further cover ways to survive in the challenging environment and cope with the pressures of the role.
The executive Master in Cybersecurity Management is part of the Digital Governance and Trust education series at the Brussels-based Business school. Running since 2001, this postgraduate education evolved to the needs of digital professionals. After a two-year interruption, a renewed Hybrid education method shall be launched on March 1, 2023.
